BEIJING, March 4 (Xinhua) -- The Belt and Road Initiative has yielded fruitful results during the past five years, a spokesperson for the annual session of China's top legislature said Sunday.

"This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping," said Zhang Yesui, spokesman for the first session of the 13th National People's Congress.
