Beijing(People’s Daily) - US-born Chinese pop singer Leehom Wang announced on Thursday in Beijing a world tour this year after preparing for four years, with the theme, “Descendants of the Dragon 2060.”

He said he decided to adapt his hit Chinese song, Descendants of the Dragon every 12 years until 2060, a move that he said would pass on the spirit of the Chinese nation and culture to the Chinese diaspora around the world.

The story between Wang and the dragon started in 2000 when he recomposed Descendants of the Dragon by combining elements of hiphop and rap.

Since then, in every year of the dragon Wang will recompose the song until 2060.

While he grew up in the US, Wang said he is committed to carrying forward Chinese culture with his music. Beginning with Descendants of the Dragon, various Chinese elements have been adopted into his music.
