Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, called on the Party to make more efforts to enhance China's cultural soft power.
Xi made the remarks at the opening session of the 19th CPC National Congress on Wednesday, while delivering a report entitled "Secure a Decisive Victory in Building a Moderately Prosperous Society in All Respects and Strive for the Great Success of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era" at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
"We will improve our capacity for engaging in international communication so as to tell China's stories well, present a true, multi-dimensional, and panoramic view of China, and enhance our country's cultural soft power," he said.
Xi also noted that economic policy should be improved for the progress of the cultural sector, adding that new business forms in this field should be developed.
