

The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is scheduled to open at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, the media center of the congress announced Monday.
The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on China Central Television, it said.
A total of 2,287 delegates have been selected from across China to attend the congress.
The CPC national congress, usually held every five years, unveils new leadership and sets a blueprint for national development for the next five years and beyond.
