Kungfu star Jackie Chan and other cast and crew members of the action-drama "The Foreigner" have gathered in Los Angeles for the film's US premiere.
"Foreigner" stars Jackie Chan as a businessman in London who witnesses his daughter being killed in an explosion, which turns out to be a terrorist act.
The role is the action superstar's most dramatically demanding to date.
Chan says he'd been seeking such a change for a long time.
"I want to be a true actor, so this is why a couple of years ago, I tried to do 'The Karate Kid.' I was nervous and scared and after the movie comes out (with) good results, then I had confidence. Now: 'Foreigner.' I hope the audience knows I not only can fight, I also can act."
"The Foreigner" has already opened in China and will hit US cinemas next Friday.
