
LHASA, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- The 11th Panchen Lama Bainqen Erdini Qoigyijabu has returned to Beijing after two months of Buddhist activities in Tibet Autonomous Region where he visited Buddhist sites and conducted rituals.
From July 25 through Sept. 27, the Panchen Lama visited several temples and held Buddhist activities in Lhasa, Shigatse and Qamdo.
He also gave blessings to tens of thousands of followers and members of the public.
The Panchen Lama currently serves as vice president of the Buddhist Association of China and a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, the country's top political advisory body.
