More than 450 Chinese nationals have been evacuated from hurricane-ravaged Dominica and resettled in the neighboring country, Antigua and Barbuda.
Hurricane Maria hit Dominica as a category-four storm last week, leaving 15 dead. The whole island has been left in a state of disarray, cut off from electricity and telecommunications.
After days of joint efforts from embassies and institutes in Central America and China, a first group of 158 Chinese were safely evacuated on Friday. The second group of 304 Chinese nationals arrived in Antigua and Barbuda at around 8 p.m. local time on Monday.
