YANGON, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- China edged hosts Myanmar 2-1 in their opening match of the AFC U-16 Championship qualification here on Monday.
Subi Abulimiti put China in front in the 57th minute and the substitute Aifeierding Aisikaer embellished China's lead on 77 minutes. The hosts pulled one goal back before the final whistle.
Teams were divided into 10 groups in the qualification. The winner of each group and the best five second-placed finishers will qualify for the final stage of AFC U-16 Championship to be held in Malaysia.
China are in Group H with Myanmar, the Philippines and South Korea.
China will take on the Philippines on Sept. 27.
