Two art exhibitions will be held in Shanghai over the next few days, showcasing the masterpieces of Leonardo da Vinci.

Rembrandt, Vermeer and Hals in the Dutch Golden Age: Masterpieces from The Leiden Collection will open to public at the Long Museum West Bund on Saturday, with Leonardo da Vinci’s “Study of a Bear’s Head” and Rembrandt van Rijn’s “Young Lion Resting,” both sketches are making their debut in China. The “Study of a Bear’s Head”, created during the 15th century, was last displayed in London in 2011.

One of the six existing manuscripts of Rembrandt that study lions, “The Young Lion Resting” will also be displayed along with a selection of 78 history paintings collected by the Leiden Collections. The exhibition will last five months. Another exhibition, Miracle: The Bellini Family and The Renaissance, held the opening ceremony at Shanghai Himalayas Museum. Leonardo da Vinci’s unfinished sketch, “Cavaliere”, was presented at the event. The gun in the picture which the knight held in hand was actually scalable and invented by Leonardo da Vinci himself. Meanwhile, the masterpieces of Michelangelo and Raphael were also displayed.
