GUIYANG, Sept. 6 -- Shen Yiqin was appointed vice governor and acting governor of southwest China's Guizhou Province on Wednesday.

The decision was made at the 30th meeting of the 12th Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee. Former governor Sun Zhigang's resignation was also accepted at the meeting.

Shen was born in December 1959 in Guizhou's Zhijin County. She was appointed deputy secretary of CPC Provincial Committee in April.
