Jiang Zunyu, a senior official in Shenzhen, south China's Guangdong Province, was sentenced to life in prison on Monday and deprived of his political rights for life for taking bribes allegedly took bribes allegedly totaling 32.65 million yuan (US$6.01 million) between 1996 and 2014.
Guangdong Provincial Discipline and Inspection Commission had announced Jiang was under investigation on October 24, 2014 for serious rules violations.
