Some of China's latest and most advanced armored vehicles were put on display at the Second Norinco Armor Day in Baotou, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Wednesday.
It was the first time that many of the pieces of ground equipment and weapons had appeared in public. Among them were the MBT300 main battle tank, developed in China, ZBD05 amphibious armored combat vehicles, and infantry armored vehicles.
"All the major battle tanks now in service have been upgraded with an automatic transmission system. The great changes and advantages this system has brought about can greatly improve the operations of our soldiers, making it more comfortable and convenient. It also significantly improves the tank's mobility," said Zhu Zheng, arms expert at the China North Industries Group Corporation.
The Second Norinco Armor Day featured tanks and amphibious armored combat vehicles made by state-owned enterprise Norico. It also included tank demonstrations and firing displays.
