BEIJING, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Cai Qi was elected the secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Friday.

He was elected at the first plenary session of 12th Beijing committee of the CPC.

Chen Jining and Jing Junhai were elected as deputy CPC secretaries of Beijing.
