BEIJING, June 1 (Xinhua) -- China solved 3,713 child trafficking cases from 2013 to 2016, the Supreme People's Court (SPC) of China said Thursday.
According to the SPC, another 10,782 cases on child molestation were solved in the same period.
The SPC also published six typical cases on the punishment of crimes against juveniles on this year's Children's Day.
"Hopefully they will set examples and provide guidance in dealing with these cases," said Guan Yingshi, a deputy presiding judge at the SPC.
Elsewhere, a series of public campaigns against child trafficking were carried out worldwide Thursday, when local public security organs went to high-traffic areas such as kindergartens and malls, promoting their efforts to prevent child trafficking.
"Child trafficking cases have decreased but have yet to be eradicated," said Zeng Haiyan, an official at the Ministry of Public Security. "We still need to be alert to such cases."
