DUBLIN, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny said on Tuesday there are no plans yet to raise the alert level in the country following a terror attack at Manchester Arena.

But public broadcaster RTE quoted Kenny as saying that security arrangements are constantly under review.

Irish police are in touch with their British counterparts, RTE reported, quoting the prime minister as saying.

So far, it is not known if any Irish citizens were affected by the attack. But an emergency helpline has been set up by the Department of Foreign Affairs.

In a statement earlier, Kenny condemned the "vile" acts, saying that such acts are "a reminder of the depravity of the views held by the few."

"Those beliefs have no place in our society," he said.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and all those affected by this atrocity. I am heartbroken for all," he said.

He also said the city of Manchester has exceptionally close ties with Ireland.

As of now, 22 people were killed, including children, and 59 wounded in an explosion at the end of a concert by U.S. singer Ariana Grande at Manchester Arena on Monday evening. British police said the attack was carried out by one man who died at the arena. The attacker was carrying a device which he detonated.
