BEIJING, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Xia Baolong, former secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, has been appointed vice chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Environmental Protection and Resources Conservation Committee.

The appointment was approved at a bimonthly session of the NPC Standing Committee, which closed Thursday.

Shen Chunyao was appointed vice chairman of the NPC's Law Committee. He was also appointed chairman of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee, replacing Li Shishi.

Jiang Yikang was appointed vice chairman of the NPC's Financial and Economic Affairs Committee. Wang Sanyun and Wang Xiankui were appointed vice chairmen of the NPC's Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee. Luo Baoming was appointed vice chairman of the NPC's Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee.

Zhang Xueqiao was appointed deputy procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP), while Hu Zejun and Jiang Jianchu were removed from their posts of deputy procurator-general of the SPP.

Jing Hanchao and He Rong were dismissed as vice presidents of the Supreme People's Court.
