BEIJING, April 11 -- Yang Chongyong, a senior legislator in north China's Hebei Province, is being investigated for "severe disciplinary violations," the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) said Tuesday.

Yang has been vice head of the Hebei Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee since 2016. Prior to that, he had served as vice governor of Hebei for eight years.
