China's national legislature calls for uniting closely around the Communist Party of China Central Committee with Xi Jinpingas the core, according to a work report of the National People's Congress Standing Committee to be delivered Wednesday.

The fifth session of the 12th NPCis scheduled to convene a plenary meeting at 3:00 p.m. at the Great Hall of the People to hear the work report to be delivered by top legislator Zhang Dejiang.
