China will adopt a classified and hierarchical plan to protect the country's land and resources, according to the National Territorial Plan 2016-2030, China's first strategic plan for territory development and preservation.
The plan will take into consideration a variety of resources, instituting different levels of development and protection in different places, explained Zhao Long, vice minister of the Ministry of Land and Resources, at a news conference on Feb. 9. The plan also introduces a comprehensive preservation plan, featuring five distinct categories for environmental protection.
