Malta airport resumes normal operations

Malta International Airport has resumed normal operations on Friday, hours after a Libyan internal flight was hijacked and diverted to Malta.

Some flights had been diverted and others have experienced delays at the airport, Malta International Airport said.

The hijacked airplane landed at Malta International Airport at 11:32 a.m. local time. It has 111 passengers on board, 82 males, 28 females, and one infant, Malta Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said on Twitter.
