DUBAI, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese combination Chen Winghen/Zheng Siwei won the title of mixed doubles while Chinese Taipei shuttler Tai Tzu Ying defended her title in the women' s singles final here on Sunday.

After winning the women' s doubles with her teammate Jia Yifan, Chen took another trophy home by defeating British couple Chris and Gabrille Adcock in two straight sets 21-12, 21-12 in the mixed doubles.

"Our game was completely tailored to defeat the Adcocks," said her male teammate Zheng.

"We will reflect after this final, will fetch new energy between the years to reach out for new goals in 2017," said Chris Adcock.

In the women' s final Tai Tzu Ying defeated South Korea' s Sung Ji Hyun in the most one-sided final of the day 21-14, 21-13. "I was a bit surprised, normally matches against Sung are much harder," said Tai.

Sung admitted that she did not have "her best day." For Tai the victory marked her second win in Dubai. The 22-year old shuttler already won tournaments in Hong Kong and Indonesia this year.

In front of hundreds of Malaysian fans in Dubai' s Hamdan Sports Complex, Malaysian duo V Shem Goh and Wee Kiong Tan won the men' s doubles by beating Japan' s Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda 21-14, 21-19.
