An offprint of a speech given by President Xi Jinping to a seminar for the 130th anniversary of the birth of veteran revolutionary Zhu De has been published by the People's Zhu De House.
The book is available at Xinhua Bookstore outlets nationwide, the publisher said Monday.
Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, urged the Party, the military and the nation to learn from example set by Zhu and contribute to the cause pioneered by the nation's veteran revolutionaries.
Zhu had a steadfast belief in pursuing truth, Xi said, adding that Zhu's faith in Marxism and communism were the political soul and spiritual foundation of all Party members.
Xi lauded Zhu's absolute loyalty, openness and honesty, and he called on all cadres to remember that they are first and foremost Party members and they should fulfil the duties and missions designated by the Party.
Zhu De (1886-1976) was one of the major founders of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) and the People's Republic of China. He was awarded the rank of marshal in 1955.
Zhu served as commander-in-chief of the PLA, vice chairman of the People's Central Government, vice president, and chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC).
The seminar was held on Nov. 29.
