Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said the phone talk between U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and Taiwan leader Tsai Ing-wen is no more than a trick played by Taiwan authorities and will not bring any changes to the consensus over the One China Policy reached by the members of the international community.
A spokesman for Trump's transition team has said the U.S. President-elect spoke by phone on Friday with Tsai Ing-wen over issues regarding the so-called economic, political and security ties.
In response, Wang Yi said he doesn't think the US side will change its adherence to the One China principle, which is a cornerstone for the sound development of the Sino-US relations.
Wang Yi also noted the Chinese side doesn't want to see any impairments to this political foundation between the two sides.
