China and Germany will promote cultural exchanges in areas including education, technology, soccer and young people, a foreign ministry spokesperson said Monday.
Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong will attend the seventh Hamburg Summit in Germany from Wednesday to Saturday, ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang announced at a daily press briefing.
During her visit, Liu will deliver a keynote speech at the closing ceremony of the summit and hold meetings with leaders from Europe, according to Geng.
Liu will attend the China-Germany youth exchange year's closing ceremony and a higher education and technology innovation forum, Geng added.
Initiated by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce in 2004, the Hamburg Summit is an important platform for open dialogues between China and Europe and creates opportunities to enhance mutual understanding and to improve their economic relations.
