
BEIJING, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, said on Tuesday that China is ready to cooperate with African countries in HIV and AIDS prevention.
China-Africa collaboration in HIV and AIDS prevention has made significant progress, Peng told the First Lady of Malawi Gertrude Mutharika, adding that China is willing to continue to provide assistance to Africa in fighting HIV and AIDS, and developing health services.
Peng said China will share its experience in preventing the diseases with Malawi and other African nations, and enhance coordination with regional institutions, including the Organization of African First Ladies Against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA).
Gertrude Mutharika, also vice president of the OAFLA, applauded China's contribution to Africa's public health, especially the health of women and children as well as HIV and AIDS prevention
Both sides also exchanged views on China-Malawi relations and friendship.
