BEIJING, Oct. 31 -- Cai Qi was appointed vice mayor and acting mayor of Beijing on Monday.
The appointment was announced at the 30th session of the Standing Committee of the 14th Beijing Municipal People's Congress, which is the local legislature.
The meeting also accepted the resignation of Wang Anshun as mayor of Beijing.
