China presents cultural industry at LatAm cultural fair

(Xinhua)    14:07, October 22, 2016

The Southern Cultural Industries Market (MICSUR), held in Bogota on Oct. 17-20, received China for the second time, allowing the country to promote its cultural creativity and diversity to Latin American audience.

The event has also brought more value to the current China-Latin America and Caribbean Year of Cultural Exchange.

Chinese Ambassador to Colombia Li Nianping said: "The Chinese government attaches great importance to developing its cultural industries and also the relations between China and all Latin American countries."

"In 2014, China participated for the first time in MICSUR in Argentina. This time, a very large delegation...was present in this great fair of the most important cultural industries for Latin America and the Caribbean. This shows the importance China attaches to Latin America's cultural industries," he continued.

According to Li, China had two clear objectives at the event: to show its culture to the world while developing its cultural industry, and to learn from the successful experiences of Latin America's cultural industries.

For Qin Wenhuan, vice president of state-owned China Arts and Entertainment Group, MICSUR is an ideal event to present the Chinese cultural industry.

The Chinese delegation brought to the fair spectacular multimedia shows by Qingdao Symphonic Orchestra, Zhejiang Wu Opera Troupe, as well as martial arts and ballet shows. Animation company E-GO Studio also presented its interactive holographic projection technology at the event.

MICSUR is South America's largest cultural industries fair, covering design, scenic arts, editorial, audiovisual, animation and video games, among others.
