

Recently, a giant nanmu tree was discovered in Xiangyang, Hubei province by a local wildlife protection organization. The precious tree is 25 meters in height and 1.45 meters in diameter - so large that it takes two people to encircle the trunk with their arms. Beside the giant tree is a river that has been supplying the local people for generations. According to experts, the tree is a 1,200-year-old lindera megaphylla. Now the tree is under the protection of local authorities.
