Body of Chinese Peacekeeper Transferred to Mali Capital (4)

The body of Chinese U.N. peacekeeper Shen Liangliang killed in Mali last week has been transferred to Bamako, the capital of the West African country.

The 29-year-old was killed in an attack by extremists on May 29th in central Mali's Gao region.

A memorial service is scheduled to take place at the Chinese embassy later on this Tuesday.

Three injured Chinese peacekeepers have also arrived at Bamako on another military aircraft, along with a special investigation team sent by the Chinese military.

Among them, one is suffering from a severe injury to the head and will be flown back to China for further treatment.

The remaining two will be hospitalized in Bamako.

The attack in Gao last Tuesday also killed a French national and two people from Mali.
