
Zhong still feels embarrassed about her reaction to the first homicide case she handled. When she organized the files, the first page she saw was an autopsy report with the victim’s photo on it. Zhong was so flustered that she threw the whole file away.
Gradually she has gotten used to her work and become quite good at it. Zhong is extremely organized, and horrific photos never scare her anymore. “It still feels cruel every time I think about a life being converted into numbers on an autopsy report. It took me a long time to get over that,” Zhong says.
