A wild Siberian Tiger was caught in the infrared camera in Northeast Taxus Chinensis Natural Reserve Area in Heilongjiang, northeast China, the local bureau of forestry reported on January 17, 2016. This is the first time a wild Siberian tiger is clearly recorded in video.

The clip shows the tiger roamed leisurely in the land of the reserve area on January 1, 2016. Attracted by the LED indicator of the infrared camera, it pushed its face towards the lens, leaving a front portrait.

Another clip taken on January 17, 2016 caught the same tiger dragging its prey.

The three infrared cameras were installed in the reserve after a 120-kg boar was found dead in the area on December 19, 2015. Synthetic analysis showed that its predator was a male wild Siberian Tiger, 2.5 to 3 years old, who caught the boar when it was inspecting its own territory.

Wild Siberian tiger is an extremely rare species, as its population in China is estimated at merely 18-22.
