Beijing's Chang'an Avenue prepares for V-day parade

Started from Tiananmen Square, the Chang'an Avenue, literally "eternal peace street", which stretches to both east and west, is a major thoroughfare in Beijing and an icon of the nation. The military parade to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the anti-Fascist War and Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression will be held in Tiananmen Square and the Chang'an Avenue.

Citizens have noticed that the Chang'an Avenue is becoming more beautiful: the guardrails on both sides have been replaced, trees are more organized, and roads are getting cleaner… Starting this year, the Chang'an Avenue improvement project is going to be carried out in the next two to three years.
