The Chinese Twelve Zodiac Fountain from the Old Summer Palace is replicated in Tai'an, Shandong, July 24, 2015.
The replicate fountain is also made up of 12 Chinese zodiac bronze statues sitting in a circle, just as the same size as the ones from Old Summer Palace. This fountain costs hundreds of thousands of yuan.
The water clock fountain in Old Summer Palace consisting of 12 bronze Chinese zodiac statues was designed by Italian Giuseppe Castiglione for the Qianlong Emperor. After the British and French forces robbed the Old Summer Palace in 1860, many Chinese treasures including the 12 bronze zodiac statues have lost overseas.
