Two years have passed since this “nail house” was reported on China’s mass media. Today, it is still standing against the luxury villas in Suzhou, east China’s Jiangsu province.
“Nail house”, in Chinese Dingzihu, is a home where the owner refuses to accept compensation from a property developer for its demolition.
According to China News website, the owner of this house still maintains his normal life despite of the pressure from the developer as well as from the nearby luxury buildings.
Nail houses are a common phenomenon in China as its urbanization is expanding.
