Press conference for the 2nd Cross-strait Tea Culture Summit and the 14th China Pu'er Tea Festival held in Beijing

On the morning of May 6, the press conference on the 2nd Cross-strait Tea Culture Summit and the 14th China Pu'er Tea Festival was held in Beijing.

Sponsored by China Academy of Culture Limited, Yunnan Pu'er People's Government and Institute for advanced Humanities and Religion, Beijing Normal University, the 2nd Cross-strait Tea Culture Summit and the 14th China Pu'er Tea Festival will be held in Pu'er from May 23 to 25, 2015. This is a cross-strait meeting to promote the tea culture and tea industry cooperation, and a party for experts, famers and businessmen in the industry.

The festival, themed with "Pu'er Tea - World Tea Culture Heritage Protection and Cultural Inheritance", consists of the 2nd Cross-strait Tea Culture Summit, Pu'er Tea Processing Competition, Pu'er Tea Products Trade Fair and Pu'er Tea Specialty Products Trade Fair, Event for Pu'er Jingmai Mountain Tea Grove's Application to Be Listed in the World Cultural Heritage, release of documentary Magnificent Pu'er Tea and the theme song Missing, as well as a solemn traditional tea ceremony and an original dance party and other activities.

Initiated by Xu Jialu, Vice Chairman of the 9th and 10th Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Director of China Academy of Culture Limited, the summit will be held in Pu'er. It will uphold the cultural policy of China Academy of Culture Limited "One Unity with Two Wings", and invite more than 20 experts and scholars and famous tea and tea culture experts to create top domestic tea culture exploration and promotion platform. Themed with "Tea, Culture & Ecology" and with topics of "people and tea", "tea and religion" and "tea and nature", the summit will explore the relationship between the three topics, reveal the core and essence of tea culture, and contribute to the construction of ecological civilization, social development and the revival of Chinese traditional culture.

The festival will also organize a special event aiming to supporting Pu'er Jingmai Mountain Tea Grove's application to be listed in the World Cultural Heritage and to showing the charm of Pu'er Tea as world tea origination.

At the press conference, documentary Magnificent Pu'er Tea and the song Missing were also displayed.

Currently, the summit and festival are under intense preparation. Key activities like the summit, competition, investment absorption, traditional tea ceremony and programs are promoted smoothly.
