The 14th China Pu'er Tea Festival will take place in Pu'er

According to Pu'er Daily, the 2nd Cross-strait Tea Culture Summit Forum (or the Tea Culture Forum for short) and the 14th China Pu'er Tea Festival will be held in Pu'er from May 23 to 25, 2015. Industry groups, tea experts and scholars from the world of tea, famed tea enterprises, and tea fans will come together in Pu'er to discuss the essence of tea culture, analyze the status of the development of tea industry, its outlook, and strategies necessary to ensure sustained development, and promote exchanges and cooperation of the cross-strait tea industry.

This event will include a range of activities, including Worship of Tea Ancestor, the Tea Culture Forum, trade fair for Pu'er tea products, Pu'er tea processing contest, competition among folk tea techniques, and promotion of Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Garden World Cultural Heritage Application.

During the Tea Culture Forum, cross-strait industry insiders and experts in tea culture will hold discussions about a range of tea-related topics, like the relations between tea and people, between tea and faith, and between tea and nature. Moreover, some ceremonies passed down from generation to generation among some ethnic minorities will also be conducted, including those for welcoming the tea ancestor, for paying respects to the tea ancestor, and for worshiping the tea ancestor on bended knees, which will demonstrate the primitiveness, mysteriousness, sacredness, and seriousness of the tea culture of those ethnic minorities.

This year's tea festival will hold a trade fair for Pu'er tea products, which is expected to present to the public the tea-leaf products, tea ware, and new technologies of domestic and foreign companies as well as tea culture.

The festival will organize a series of activities attended by experts in applying for World Cultural Heritage and other select guests, with the aim of giving more support to Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Garden World Cultural Heritage Application. It will also arrange for the experts and guests to go on a trip to the Thousand-Year Ten-Thousand-Mu Cultivated Ancient Tea Garden and to ancient villages of some ethnic minorities. The festival will allow them to appreciate the tea culture of Pu'er as well as the rich custom of the local ethnic minorities.
