A man who boasted online about killing a leopard cat got 10 days in administrative detention for spreading rumors and disturbing public order and a fine of 2,000 yuan ($325.2) for poaching and selling endangered animals, local authorities in Binyang county, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region said Friday.

Preliminary investigation into the case had identified the animal as a pet cat, which angered many Net users.
