Vice-Premier Meets French Guests

Chinese Vice-Premier Li Lanqing met Sunday with a French delegation, which was in Chengdu, the capital of southwest Sichuan Province to participate in a Sino-French economic symposium.

Li briefed the delegation led by former French prime minister Raymond Barre on the current economic situation in China.

He expressed the hope that China and France will further expand cooperation in social development, trade and investment, cultural exchange and tourism.

More than 600 people from China and France took part in the symposium, which was sponsored by France-China Committee, the French Embassy in China, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Sichuan provincial government.
