Yale President Visits Fudan University in Shanghai

Yale University President Richard C. Levin visited the prestigious Fudan University in Shanghai Saturday.

Accompanied by Fudan President Wang Shenghong and Vice- President Yang Yuliang, Levin visited a gene engineering laboratory and a biology research center affiliated with the Shanghai school.

Wang said, "President Levin's visit will strengthen the friendly ties between Yale and Fudan, and will create opportunities for the two schools to conduct more academic exchanges."

In recent years, Yale and Fudan have jointly carried out a dozen of projects on scientific research and personnel training. Since 1997, Yale invited two doctorate students of arts from Fudan for one-year training annually. Fudan also received students from Yale.
