Yugoslavia, Albania Agree to Reestablish Diplomatic Ties

Yugoslavia and Albania announced Thursday that the two countries reached agreement on reestablishing diplomatic relations, which were severed in 1999 as a result of the Kosovo crisis.

Yugoslavian Foreign Affairs Minister Goran Svilanovic and Albanian Foreign Minister Paskal Milo made the announcement at a press conference held after their talks.

They said that the leaders of the two countries will meet on March 29 in Tirana, capital of Albania.

On January 17 this year, the two governments exchanged an oral note on resuming diplomatic relations between the two countries
