WFP Project in Qinghai Inspected

A delegation composed of US officials to the United Nations World Food Program wound up an eight-day visit to China Tuesday.

During their visit, the delegation inspected the No. 5715 project built with funds provided by the WFP in northwest China's Qinghai Province and visited some rural schools and the houses of local farmers.

Bai Ma, a government official in Qinghai, said construction of the No. 5715 project, which began four years ago in poor areas of eastern Qinghai to improve agricultural conditions and develop education for girls in Qinghai, is progressing well.

George McGovern, head of the delegation, said his delegation would render more help for teenage education in impoverished areas of Qinghai.
