Changchun: 67 Incompetent Cadres Dismissed by Villagers

Last year saw Changchun villagers dismiss altogether 67 incompetent cadres at grassroots level through a democratic evaluation system.

After cadres' mission debriefing villager representatives voted on their moral behavior, competency, diligence and achievements in terms of their office. Those who failed to gain 50 percent of the votes would be removed from their posts according to the legal procedures.

Most of the cadres who failed to pass the evaluation are weak in their jobs, or abuse their power in eating and drinking extravagantly with a few of them even breaking the laws, as report says.
