One Single IC Card Turns Bus, Metro and Taxi into a Thoroughfare

Recently Beijing Bashi Co. Ltd. has appropriated three million yuan collected from the stock market into the development and application of electronic ticket system---the IC card for public transportation will be put into trial use before the coming June.

Integrating various functions into one, the IC card will realize an automatic charging when passengers are out taking buses, the metro and taxes. So far, the ongoing test of the IC card is in a smooth sailing in terms of data reading, data acquisition, transmission, statistics, inquiry, settlement and verification.

The old commutation ticket system has resulted in some uncertainty in so far as calculation, statistics and balance of passenger flow and turnover are concerned. Therefore, to promote the use of IC card instead of the old system will eventually promise an imperative trend. As reported, Beijing Bashi Co. has planned to put into use the IC cards in around 50 bus-lines.

In the meantime, the IC to metro and taxi is also being developed. In the near future, Beijing citizens will be able to enjoy the benefits from IC cards while out on bus, the metro and taxi or even going to parks.
