Unknown "Spider Man" Conquered the Skyscraper in China

Unknown "Spider Man" Conquered the Skyscraper in China
On February 18, an unknown Chinese "Spider Man" succeeded in climbing Shanghai Jinmao Tower, the highest building in China.

The climber started to climb the Jinmao Tower at about 15:00 on February 18 without contacting any department of Jinmao Tower and was caught by the police after he reached the top of the 88-floor of the Tower at about 17:10. So far, the police haven't breathed any information about the climber.

Eyewitnesses said that the climber is in his twenties, about 170cm tall, wearing a blue short- sleeved shirt and speaking with an accent of Anhui Province. He climbed fast at the very beginning and slowed down by and by due to physical strength. The "spider man" had told a woman stranger before his climbing that he would climb up the Jinmao Tower although he had no experience of building and cliff climbing. Thinking he might be in mental disorder, the woman just turned away without paying much attention to him.

But the "spider" walked his talk and got the notice of the police.

Analysts say perhaps the Chinese "spider man" wanted to score a success in climbing the Jinmao Tower ahead of Alain Robert, the French "spider man" who had planned for climbing the Jinmao Tower but failed to get approval. The revealing of the news roused great and wide attention among cliff climbing fans. Some people in Nanjing ever reported to have the intention of climbing the Jinling Hotel in Nanjing.

Jinmao Tower in Shanghai, 420.5m high, 88 floors in its main building, with an overall floor space of 290,000 square meters, is the highest building in China, and also the third highest in the world. The Jinmao Tower is a tower of multifarious functions integrating tourism and businesses, meetings and exhibitions, entertainment and shopping, and so on.
