90-year-old Academician Joined the Party
"This is a great happiness in my life," said Shi Jun, a 90-year-old academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and tutor for doctoral students of Nanjing University of Chemical Engineering, who was recently admitted into the Communist Party of China.
Shi Jun, the senior academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is a great master specialized in the education of chemical engineering in China. He first applied for joining the Party at the beginning of 1956, and never gave up his aspiration for the faith and cause of the Party even when he was unfairly treated in a series of political movements. He was redressed to lecture students after the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the CPC. During his teaching career of score of years, he has nurtured numerous students including ten academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and hundreds of senior masters. So he was awarded the title of "National Excellent Specialist of Important Achievement in Chemical Engineering" and as one of the first batch in China enjoyed special subsidy by the state.
