Qingdao Haier Taps Mobile Phone Market
Qingdao Haier Group Co., a giant electronic appliance manufacturer in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province, on Friday started production and sale of mobile phones.
The project will be operated by the Haier CCT Communication Ltd. , which was jointly set up by Haier Group and Chung Kin Telecommunication Ltd., the world's largest wireless phone supplier and a major Internet supplier in Hong Kong.
With a brand-value of 33 billion yuan, Haier has 50,000 sales outlets across the country forming a comprehensive sales network. Last year, the sale value of the company reached 40.6 billion yuan.
The Haier CCT will use advanced mobile phone technology provided by its two sponsors' design centers in eight countries and regions including Britain, Denmark, Australia, the United State, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
