Volkswagenwerk AG President Lectures in Shanghai
Dr. Robert Buchelhoder, the Asia-Pacific regional president of Volkswagenwerk AG, German giant automobile manufacturer, spoke on the automotive business Friday at Tongji University, one of China's most prestigious institutes of higher education in Shanghai.
More than 1,000 students and teachers along with professionals from the city's automobile industry attended the lecture, which was themed "Volkswagenwerk AG, E-business and locomotive business. "
Buchelhoder, also president of Volkswagen Automotive (China) Investment Ltd., said that the company has carried out a series of cooperation projects with the university in the fields of automotive design, manufacturing and professional training.
Last June, the company donated five million yuan to jointly set up an automotive research center with Tongji University in a bid to strengthen cooperation in the field.
Wu Qidi, president of Tongji University, said that the establishment of Volkswagen-Tongji automotive research center plays an important role in promoting Sino-German technological exchanges as well as the friendship between people of the two countries.
