Congolese President to Investigate Kabila's Death
President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) Joseph Kabila has ordered the creation of a special commission to investigate the assassination of his father Laurent Kabila, said reports from Kinshasa reaching in Nairobi on Friday.
According to the reports, the commission will be made up of representatives from the DRC and its allies in the central African country's civil war, namely Angola, Namibia and Zimbabwe.
The commission, which has the power to detain and order the arrest of any suspect, will work for at least 30 days, the reports added.
Joseph Kabila was appointed as the DRC's new president after former president Laurent Kabila was assassinated by one of his bodyguards at the presidential palace in Kinshasa last month.
