The 88th China (Autumn) Export Commodities Fair opened Sunday in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province.
Some 10,000 Chinese enterprises presented nearly 100,000 varieties of commodities at the 12-day event, which has been held annually over the past four decades and more. High-tech and high value-added electromechanical products make up a major part of the commodities on show.
Participants also include more than 30 private enterprises which have been granted the right to export their products. The number doubled last year's figure.
At the same time, more than 6,000 enterprises have exhibited over 50,000 varieties of commodities at a virtual fair -- "on-line Guangzhou Commodities Fair", which is held simultaneously with the current event.
A total of 100,000 overseas businessmen are expected to visit the fair, according to the organizing committee.
