Beijing Awaits Naming for 2008 Olympics: Official

An official from the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Bid Committee (BOBICO) said Sunday that she hopes Beijing will become the host city for the 2008 Olympics.

Peng Ling, a BOBICO press official, told chinadaily.com.cn that as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is to publish the first selection of bidding cities on August 28 and 29, she hopes Beijing will be one of the selections.

The IOC will decide in Lausanne, Switzerland August 28 and 29 in a meeting to select four to six host cities among the ten bidding cities for the 29th Olympics.

"I hope Beijing will be the winner," she said.

She added that readers can get latest news from www.beijing-2008.org, the web site for BOBICO, to see Beijing's success.
